Throughout the academic year we will begin each week with a session of ballet to improve strength, flexibility and posture. Through ballet, students can connect with their physicality, explore physical changes that are present in their ever-growing bodies and strengthen minuscule muscles that will aid their performance and development both presently and in adult life.

After ballet, students will jump straight into dance choreography with a range of musical styles. Our choices will range from fantastic classics to modern hits in both the Musical Theatre and Pop worlds.

The students will then have a break, allowing them time to socialise with each other, eat a snack and to explore and enjoy the wonderful environment at the Family Learning School.

In the second half of our Friday sessions, students will engage in a one hour class which will be unique every week. In this session we will work on both spoken and sung voice, we will explore musicality, we will read radio scripts and act out scenes from well known plays and musicals. We will write songs, develop individual abilities and learn to believe and trust in our own voices.

Through our own vast network of talented professional contacts, MTG is also committed to bringing in Masterclasses from both the theatre industry and other professions that require performance skills. These will range from west end masterclasses to learning about selling houses, public relations, producing theatre and managing a team. Students will be encouraged to make presentations about their interests outside of the performing arts and deliver them to their peers with strength, determination, clarity of speech and a positive and welcoming atmosphere. We are also keen to continually showcase the students for parents to keep up with their progress and for each child to feel the thrill of performing live, be that at the school or in local theatre performances.

Through our Friday sessions we aim for our students to learn valuable skills through play which will enrich their future social and professional lives. Building unshakeable confidence for life.
